Q: How did you get into Nursing/What made you interested in it?

A: I’ve always wanted to be a nurse when I was growing up, specifically a travel nurse! It was a dream of mine. Being able to care for people and travel sounded like my ideal job. All my jobs before working as a nurse involved caring for children, and it’s something that made me very happy! So I decided to become a pediatric nurse. Then worked my way to become a pediatric travel nurse.

Q: What are your Nursing essentials/accessories that you can't live without?

A: I can’t live without my Stanley cup, I always have to stay hydrated on my shifts! I also always have to have the cutest badge reels.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge in Nursing to overcome?

A: My biggest challenge as a nurse was switching between days and nights. I work night shift, so it’s pretty challenging to switch back to days. But I have found a good system that works for me!

Q: What has been your most rewarding moment in your Nursing career?

A: My most rewarding moments as a nurse was having parents write me praises on how well I took care of their child. It makes me so happy knowing I’m making a difference and helping children cope in the hospital. I always try to make it less scary for them and advocate for all my patients. Getting to see them go home feeling better with a big smile on their face makes me the happiest!

Q: What advice would you give to others wanting to get into the Nursing field?

A: My advice for people wanting to become a nurse is make sure you have a strong passion for it. Being a nurse definitely isn’t easy, but if you work toward your goal and succeed it’ll make you feel amazing knowing you can make a change in people’s lives! Also, if you go into a field that you feel like isn’t for you, as a nurse there’s hundreds of different jobs you can try out to figure out what’s best for you!
