You know better than anyone that the process of becoming a nurse is a large undertaking. Being a nurse is no small feat! Nursing school is a long, challenging process that requires your strength and endurance to come out as a strong, skilled nurse. Plus, it is by no means a cheap undertaking. Never fear! Institutions and programs are increasingly recognizing the heft of tuition, and scholarships designed specifically to aid your nursing school journey have continuously cropped up over time. We’ve compiled a list of scholarships for you to apply to, whether you’re just starting your nursing school journey or you’re moving on to the next step.

Nursing Student

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

1.      Coursey Enterprises Student Scholarship

Application

Scholarship Amount: $250

Deadline: September 1 & December 1

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, enrolled in a LPN or RN program, and must write a 200 word essay describing why they want to be a nurse. There is both a Spring and Fall scholarship.


2.      Hurst Review Services Nursing AACN Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: $2,500

Deadline: July 15

Hurst Review Services, the fastest growing NCLEX Review Company in the country, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing are pleased to announce our continued partnership awarding scholarships to students pursuing professional nursing degrees. 3.      Nurses Make a Difference Scholarship

Application

Scholarship Amount: $1,000

Deadline: August 1, 2022

The Nurses Make a Difference Scholarship is an annual $1,000 scholarship awarded by Cascade Healthcare Solutions to an aspiring nurse who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program at a college or university, or is a high school student who has been accepted into a school with an undergraduate nursing program. Cascade Healthcare Solutions is excited to support individuals who have the goal to pursue one of the most essential professions in our society with the Nurses Make a Difference Scholarship.

 

GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

4.      AfterCollege/AACN Scholarship

Application

Scholarship Amount: $10,000

Deadline: March 31 & September 30

The AfterCollege-AACN Scholarship Fund supports students who are seeking a baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degree in nursing. Special consideration will be given to students in a graduate program with the goal of becoming a nurse educator; students completing an RN-to-BSN or RN-to-MSN program; and those enrolled in an accelerated program. One scholarship in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded each quarter.


5.      Career Mobility Scholarship

Application

Scholarship Amount: $1,000

Deadline: October 1

The Career Mobility Scholarship was launched to fund the continuing nursing education of a DNA member that will enhance his/her ability to contribute to the dermatologic community.


6.      Uniform Advantage/ GNSA Scholarship

Application

Scholarship Amount: $2,500

Deadline: January 31 & September 30

Uniform Advantage (UA) has partnered with The American Association of Colleges of Nursing to help give graduate students an opportunity to further their master's or doctoral degree in nursing through The Uniform Advantage-GNSA Scholarship Fund. Students must be members of the Graduate Nursing Student Academy. UA believes strongly in giving back to their communities and with this scholarship, it will allow students to leave their mark on the future of healthcare. Two scholarships in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded to one winner each in the fall and spring semesters.

7.      Creative Biolabs Scholarship

Dashanna loved nursing and sharing her talents and leadership in healthcare systems in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Tennessee, and California. Her love and passion for healing encouraged her to start and incorporate the McNeil Healthcare Institute with the purpose of educating future certified nursing assistants. The Dashanna K. McNeil Memorial Scholarship exists to honor her life and to encourage those who share her commitment to nursing through their studies and pending careers.


9.      Jacob Daniel Dumas Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: $3,000

Deadline: September 4

With the growth seen in various STEM fields throughout the United States, more people have begun to realize the importance of jobs in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. To fill these jobs and continue the forward progress of the nation, more students are going into STEM subjects in college. The Jacob Daniel Dumas Memorial Scholarship will support students in their STEM educational journey. North Carolina high school seniors and undergraduate students looking to pursue a career in STEM are encouraged to apply.


10.  TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: $5,000 or $10,000

Deadline: August 1

For over 20 years, the makers of TYLENOL® have supported students pursuing degrees in healthcare by offering the TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship. A total of $250,000 is awarded each year to forty exceptional students.
